NO, I WON’T BE YOUR TECHNICAL CO-FOUNDER

Found this great post by @MartinGryner. I’m thinking of sending it to everybody who hits me up on LinkedIn wanting me to build them a website for free as a “cofounder”.

Pure magic!

NO, I WON’T BE YOUR TECHNICAL CO-FOUNDER

Hackers are becoming more and more like VCs, they often have to say “no”. Last summer, just before the 500 demo day I attended an event which required me to fill in “company” on name tag. As I was there just to help out Zerply for less than 2 months I didn’t feel adequate enough use their name. I didn’t bother to write my consulting companies either as obviously it wouldn’t have said anything. I decided to go for “Hacker”. I don’t think I would have been forced to listen to as many pitches had I chosen “writing checks”.

Every week I get approached by someone with a “game changing” idea. All they need is someone to execute it. “Hey, I’ve heard you are good at IT stuff, let’s start up!”. Well, no.

just a few snaps from the last night’s el falafel pop up by hot knives in echo park.

frustrated by the lack of decent falafel options in los angeles, the boys set out to make the best balls in town…and they succeeded.

it was a late night, cash only, eat on the street type of operation, but the food was incredible and the dudes sold out—-150 sandwiches from 10pm to 1am!

i always have very high expectations for hot knives’ food, and this falafel was better than i could have imagined. my only question is: when’s the next pop up?!

I love this graphic of London. Wish I recall where I found it so I could give a proper credit.

spud buds at stone world bistro & gardens in escondido: stone ipa organic garlicky mashed potatoes, balled up and deep fried in arrogant bastard ale batter. served with a side of stone smoked porter bbq sauce for dipping. all vegan!

dude, if you haven’t been to stone brewery yet, stop reading this and GO! it’s an incredible brewery with a super classy vegan-friendly restaurant attached to it. there are a few hotels within walking distance, and i highly recommend a food field trip just to eat and drink there. i’ve done it many times!

really lame anti-soy/almond/rice milk commercial put out by the dairy industry. can’t they do better than this? the kid would have WAY worse nightmares if he knew what really happened to dairy cows…
